Summer Internships 2009
Thank you for your interest in participating in my summer intern program, which is designed to give students who have completed their sophomore year in college an opportunity to work in either my Washington or Little Rock office.
The program helps interns to learn about the federal legislative process, develop writing skills, and increase communication skills. During the five-week session, interns work closely with my permanent staff to perform various constituent services, participate in the legislative process and experience life in Washington, D.C. Due to budget constraints, the internship is offered on a volunteer basis only. Internships are available for one of two summer sessions. The dates for 2009 are (May 26 - June 26) Session One and (June 29 – July 31) Session Two. Please complete the application and send it with a copy of your resume and three letters of recommendation to my Washington, D.C. office, 355 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20510 or fax it to (202) 228-1371. Please send it to the attention of Molly McGowan, Intern Coordinator. A completed application consists of: 1) application, 2) resume and 3) three letters of recommendation.
Applications Summer Application for the summer 2009 program must be postmarked to my office no later than Saturday, February 21, 2009. Selections for summer 2009 will be announced in mid March so that housing can be secured by those selected for the program. Information on suggested housing is provided with an acceptance letter.
