Lincoln Pledges Support for Southwest Arkansas Communities Following Storms
Little Rock – U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln today offered her condolences to the families affected by Thursday’s severe weather and pledged to provide any support she could to the affected communities in southwest Arkansas.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those tragically killed in Thursday’s storms, as well as those who have suffered injury and property damage,” Lincoln said. “Many families now face the overwhelming task of rebuilding and what steps to take next.
“My office has been in close contact with local and state officials, and I will work hand-in-hand with the affected communities to provide any assistance I can in the disaster recovery efforts. I commend the Governor for his fast response deploying our National Guard, and I commend all of our first responders and community members who are already at work helping their neighbors in need.”
Lincoln encouraged Arkansans with property damage to call their local offices of emergency management or monitor the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management’s website, www.adem.arkansas.gov, for additional information. Lincoln also encouraged those affected by the storms to call her office in Little Rock at 1-800-352-9364 for assistance.
