On November 13, 2007, Second Lt. Stuart Liles of Hot Springs, Arkansas, gave his life in service to our nation. A paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he died in a non-combat related incident in Bagram, Afghanistan. Second Lt. Liles was a graduate of Fountain Lake High School in Hot Springs and earned a degree in liberal arts from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He was also a music lover and served as a youth worship leader at Trinity Church in Hot Springs. Second Lt. Liles is survived by his wife, Aubre, and daughter, Aurora, both of Little Rock; his mother Kristen Liles Quintanella of Hot Springs; his sister, Erin Long of Saint Mary’s, Georgia; and brother, Sean Liles of Fayetteville. Although he may be gone, his service for our country in the name of freedom will not be forgotten. For that, we are eternally grateful.
